Non Surgical Treatments

Not Every Hair Loss Solution Requires Surgery.

Honest, independent guidance across every non surgical treatment option — helping you find what actually works for your situation.

What I Offer

Proven Non Surgical Solutions.

A hair transplant is not always the right answer and I will always tell you honestly if that is the case. For many men a non surgical approach is either the better first step or the most appropriate long term solution.

Whether you are looking to stimulate regrowth, restore the appearance of density, slow down further loss, or explore an immediate solution, there is an option here that may be right for your situation. I will help you understand exactly what each treatment can and cannot realistically achieve before you commit to anything.

PRP Treatment

A clinically proven treatment that uses your own blood plasma to stimulate hair follicles, slow loss, and improve density. Delivered by a trusted registered nurse partner.

PRP TREATMENT

What Is PRP and Could It Work For You?

Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, commonly known as PRP, is one of the most clinically backed non surgical treatments available for hair loss today. It is not a miracle cure and I will never present it as one. But for the right candidate, used at the right stage of hair loss, PRP can produce meaningful improvements in hair density, follicle health, and the rate of further loss.

Here is an honest explanation of what PRP involves, what it can realistically achieve, and who it is most likely to benefit.

How It Works

A small amount of blood is drawn, the same as a standard blood test. That blood is then placed in a centrifuge which spins at high speed to separate its components. This process concentrates the platelets, the part of your blood rich in growth factors, into a plasma solution.

That platelet rich plasma is then injected directly into the areas of the scalp where hair loss or thinning is occurring. The growth factors within the plasma stimulate dormant or weakened hair follicles, increase blood supply to the scalp, and encourage the follicles to enter and sustain the active growth phase of the hair cycle.

The result, for the right candidate, is a gradual improvement in hair density, reduced shedding, and in many cases visible regrowth in areas of early thinning.

Is PRP Right For Your Situation?

PRP is not suitable for everyone and I will always give you an honest assessment of whether it is likely to benefit your specific situation before recommending it.

PRP tends to produce the best results in the following situations.

Men at an early to mid stage of hair loss where follicles are weakened but still active. PRP works by stimulating existing follicles. It cannot revive follicles that are completely dormant or create new ones where none exist.

Men using finasteride or minoxidil who want to enhance their medication results. PRP and medication work well in combination. The medication stabilises loss while PRP actively stimulates regrowth and improves scalp health.

Men who have recently undergone a hair transplant. PRP is widely used post procedure to accelerate graft survival, reduce recovery time, and improve the density of the final result. Many clients choose PRP as part of their post transplant recovery plan.

Men who want a non surgical option but are not ready for or suited to a transplant. PRP offers a clinically backed, minimally invasive alternative that can produce meaningful results without surgery.

Realistic Expectations

I want to be completely honest about what PRP can realistically achieve because the internet is full of before and after photos that set unrealistic expectations for this treatment.

PRP is not a replacement for a hair transplant. It will not restore a fully receded hairline or regrow hair in areas of complete loss. If your hair loss is advanced, PRP alone is unlikely to produce the dramatic results you are looking for.

What PRP can realistically achieve for the right candidate is a noticeable improvement in hair density and thickness, a reduction in daily shedding, improved scalp health and follicle condition, and a meaningful slowing of further loss.

Most clients require a course of sessions to achieve optimal results, typically three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every four to six months. Results are gradual and become most visible three to six months after the initial course.

Consistency is important. PRP produces and maintains its best results when the treatment protocol is followed correctly and combined with appropriate hair loss medication where suitable.

My Role

I work with a carefully selected, highly experienced registered nurse partner in the North West who delivers PRP treatment to my clients using advanced centrifugation protocols proven to produce consistently high platelet concentrations.

My role is to assess whether PRP is the right option for your specific situation before you commit to anything. I will not refer you to a PRP treatment if I do not genuinely believe it is likely to benefit you. That independence is what makes the guidance you receive from me fundamentally different from walking into a clinic where PRP is simply another treatment on the price list.

If PRP is the right option for you I will manage the referral process, brief you fully on what to expect, and remain available throughout your treatment course for any questions or concerns.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

A highly effective non surgical solution that replicates the appearance of a full head of closely shaved hair. Natural looking, permanent, and life changing for the right candidate.

SMP TREATMENT

What Is Scalp Micropigmentation and Could It Work For You?

Scalp micropigmentation, commonly known as SMP, is one of the most effective and instantly transformative non surgical solutions available for hair loss today. When performed by a skilled, experienced artist the results are completely natural looking, immediately visible, and life changing for the right candidate.

Here is an honest explanation of what SMP involves, what it can realistically achieve, and who it is most likely to benefit.

How It Works

SMP is a specialist form of cosmetic pigmentation that replicates the appearance of hair follicles on the scalp. Using a fine needle and carefully selected pigments, a trained SMP artist deposits tiny deposits of colour into the upper layers of the scalp, creating the impression of a full head of closely shaved hair or adding the appearance of density to thinning areas.

The process is carried out across multiple sessions to build the result gradually, ensuring the pigmentation is layered correctly for a completely natural appearance. Each session typically lasts two to four hours depending on the area being treated and the result being achieved.

The finished result, when delivered by an experienced artist, is virtually undetectable. Most people who see it simply assume the client has chosen to shave their head rather than recognising it as a treatment.

Is SMP Right For Your Situation?

SMP is not a one size fits all solution and I will always give you an honest assessment of whether it is the right option for your specific situation before making any recommendation.

SMP tends to produce the best results in the following situations.

Men with advanced hair loss who want an immediate, natural looking result without undergoing surgery. SMP can completely transform the appearance of significant hair loss in a way that no other non surgical treatment can match.

Men with a shaved or very short hair style preference. SMP works best when the surrounding natural hair is kept short, allowing the pigmentation to blend seamlessly with the existing hair.

Men looking to add the appearance of density to thinning areas rather than achieve the look of a fully shaved head. SMP can be used subtly to create the impression of greater hair density in areas of diffuse thinning, making it suitable for men at earlier stages of hair loss as well as more advanced cases.

Men with transplant scars or other scalp scarring. SMP is highly effective at camouflaging donor area scars from FUE or FUT procedures, blending them seamlessly with the surrounding scalp.

Men who have had a hair transplant and want to maximise the appearance of density in the recipient area. SMP and hair transplants can work exceptionally well together, with SMP filling in areas between transplanted grafts to create a fuller, more uniform result.

Realistic Expectations

SMP is a permanent cosmetic treatment and it is important to approach it with a clear, realistic understanding of what it can and cannot achieve.

SMP does not regrow hair. It does not stimulate follicles or slow the progression of hair loss. It is a cosmetic solution that addresses the appearance of hair loss rather than the underlying condition itself.

For men who are still experiencing active hair loss, I would always discuss the importance of combining SMP with an appropriate hair loss medication to stabilise the loss before or alongside the treatment. Without stabilisation, continued hair loss around a completed SMP treatment can affect the long term appearance of the result.

The pigmentation used in SMP will fade gradually over time and typically requires a maintenance session every three to five years to keep the result looking fresh and natural. This is a normal part of the process and should be factored into the long term consideration of the treatment.

When performed by the right artist, using the right techniques and pigments, the results of SMP are consistently excellent. The quality of the artist matters enormously in this field and it is one of the primary reasons I work exclusively with one carefully selected SMP specialist rather than offering multiple options.

My Role

I work with one of the most experienced SMP artists in the North West, a specialist with over 14 years of dedicated SMP experience and a reputation for producing consistently natural, precise results across a wide range of hair loss patterns and skin types.

My role is to assess whether SMP is the right option for your situation, prepare you fully for what to expect from the process, and manage the referral to my trusted partner. I will not recommend SMP if I do not genuinely believe it is the right solution for you. That honest, independent assessment is what makes working with me different from approaching an SMP studio directly where the consultation exists to sell you the treatment.

If SMP is the right option for you I will guide you through the entire process, from initial assessment through to your completed sessions, and remain available for any questions throughout.

Medication Advice

Clinically backed finasteride and minoxidil treatments that slow hair loss progression and stimulate regrowth in the majority of men who use them consistently.

HAIR LOSS MEDICATION

What You Need to Know About Hair Loss Medication — An Honest Guide

Medication is one of the most effective tools available for managing male pattern hair loss. It is also one of the most misunderstood, most poorly explained, and most inconsistently recommended treatments in the industry.

This is my honest, straightforward guide to the medication options available, what they can realistically achieve, and how to decide whether medication is the right starting point for your situation.

How Male Pattern Hair Loss Works

To understand how medication works it helps to first understand what causes male pattern hair loss.

The primary driver of male pattern hair loss is a hormone called dihydrotestosterone, commonly known as DHT. DHT is derived from testosterone and in men who are genetically susceptible it attaches to hair follicles and causes them to gradually miniaturise over time. The follicles produce progressively thinner, shorter hairs until eventually they stop producing hair altogether.

This process happens at different rates in different men depending on genetics, age, and individual hormone levels. But without intervention it is progressive. It does not reverse on its own.

The two most clinically proven medications for male pattern hair loss work by addressing this process directly.

Finasteride

Finasteride is an oral tablet taken once daily. It works by blocking the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into DHT, reducing DHT levels in the scalp by approximately 70 percent in most men who take it consistently.

The clinical evidence behind finasteride is extensive. Studies consistently show that finasteride stops or significantly slows hair loss progression in approximately 80 to 90 percent of men who take it. Around 65 percent experience some degree of visible regrowth, particularly in the crown area.

Finasteride requires consistent, long term use to maintain its effects. It typically takes three to six months before results become visible and the full benefit is usually seen at the twelve month mark. Stopping finasteride results in the hair loss resuming within approximately twelve months as DHT levels return to normal.

I take finasteride myself. I have done so for a number of years. I can speak to both the clinical evidence and the personal experience of being on this medication long term.

Minoxidil

Minoxidil works through a completely different mechanism to finasteride. Rather than targeting DHT it works as a vasodilator, increasing blood flow to the scalp and extending the active growth phase of the hair cycle. It is available as a topical solution applied directly to the scalp or increasingly as a low dose oral tablet.

Minoxidil is particularly effective at stimulating regrowth and improving hair density. It works well as a standalone treatment and significantly better when combined with finasteride. The combination of both medications is widely considered the most effective non surgical approach to male pattern hair loss currently available.

Like finasteride, minoxidil requires consistent long term use. Results become visible after three to six months of consistent use and stopping the medication results in the benefits reversing over time.

Who Should Consider Medication

Medication is worth considering seriously in the following situations.

If you are at an early to mid stage of hair loss and have not yet tried medication, starting here before considering any surgical or more invasive treatment is almost always the right first step. Medication is significantly less expensive than any procedure, completely reversible, and may produce results that change your timeline entirely.

If you are under 30 and experiencing hair loss, stabilising the loss with medication before any transplant discussion is strongly advisable. Hair loss in younger men is often still actively progressing and a transplant without first stabilising the loss can produce poor long term outcomes.

If you are planning a hair transplant, starting medication before the procedure and continuing it afterwards is widely recommended to protect existing native hair and support the long term result of the transplant.

If you have had a transplant and want to protect the investment you have made, medication is one of the most important tools available to maintain the surrounding native hair and slow further loss.

Realistic Expectations

Medication is not a cure for hair loss and it will not work for everyone. I will always give you an honest assessment of what medication is likely to achieve for your specific situation.

For men in the earlier stages of hair loss, medication can produce genuinely significant results including visible regrowth and a meaningful improvement in density. For men with more advanced hair loss, medication is unlikely to recover significant ground but can slow further progression and protect remaining hair.

The side effect profile of both medications is well documented and worth understanding fully before starting. The vast majority of men experience no significant side effects. A small percentage report side effects with finasteride in particular, most of which resolve on stopping the medication. I will always give you a balanced, honest overview of both the benefits and the potential side effects during a consultation.

My Role

My role with medication is the same as with every other treatment I discuss. To give you an honest, independent assessment of whether it is likely to benefit your situation, explain clearly what you can realistically expect, and point you toward a trusted, clinically backed pathway to access it.

I work with a trusted medication partner who provides clinically backed, prescription strength hair loss treatment through a straightforward, discreet online process. Everything is medically reviewed, properly prescribed, and delivered directly to your door.

If medication is the right starting point for your situation I will guide you through the process, answer any questions you have along the way, and remain available throughout your treatment journey.

Hair Systems

A premium, immediate solution for men who want a completely natural looking result without surgery. Modern hair systems are virtually undetectable and completely transformative.

HAIR SYSTEMS

What Is a Hair System and Could It Work For You?

A modern hair system is one of the most misunderstood solutions in the hair loss industry. For many men the term conjures images of obvious, uncomfortable toupees from a previous era. The reality in 2026 is completely different.

Today’s premium hair systems are virtually undetectable, completely natural looking, and for the right candidate they represent one of the most immediate and transformative solutions available. I have been fitting hair systems professionally for years, including work carried out on behalf of the NHS, and I have seen first hand the profound difference a well fitted, properly maintained system can make to a man’s confidence and quality of life.

This is my honest guide to what hair systems involve, who they suit, and what to realistically expect.

What Is a Modern Hair System?

A hair system is a non surgical hair replacement solution consisting of real human hair attached to a thin, breathable base that sits directly on the scalp. The base is custom made to fit the exact area of hair loss and the hair is matched precisely to the client’s natural colour, texture, and density.

When fitted correctly by an experienced specialist the result is completely natural in appearance. The hairline is undetectable, the hair moves and behaves naturally, and the system can be worn through swimming, exercise, and all normal daily activities.

Modern hair systems bear no resemblance to the heavy, obvious pieces associated with the word toupee. The materials, techniques, and artistry involved in premium hair system fitting today are in a completely different category.

Who Is a Hair System Right For?

A hair system is not the right solution for every man and I will always tell you honestly whether I think it suits your specific situation.

Hair systems tend to work best for the following candidates.

Men with significant hair loss who want an immediate result. A hair transplant takes twelve to eighteen months to produce its full result. A hair system delivers a complete transformation from the very first fitting. For men who want results now rather than in a year’s time a system can be the right answer.

Men who are not suitable candidates for a hair transplant. Not every man has sufficient donor hair for a transplant to produce a satisfactory result. For men in this situation a hair system offers a genuinely excellent alternative that delivers results a transplant cannot.

Men who want to avoid surgery entirely. Some men simply prefer a non surgical route regardless of their transplant candidacy. That is a completely valid choice and a well fitted premium hair system is a legitimate long term solution.

Men experiencing hair loss at a younger age who want a solution while they assess their longer term options. Hair systems can provide an immediate confidence solution while a younger man waits for his hair loss pattern to stabilise before making any permanent decisions.

Realistic Expectations

A hair system is a commitment that requires ongoing maintenance and a realistic understanding of what the process involves long term.

Hair systems require regular maintenance appointments, typically every four to six weeks, to keep the system looking its best. The base and adhesive require periodic replacement and the hair itself requires the same care and attention as natural hair.

The ongoing cost of maintenance is something every client should factor into their decision. A premium hair system is not a one time purchase — it is a lifestyle choice that involves regular upkeep and periodic replacement of the system itself.

With proper care and regular maintenance a premium hair system can look completely natural and remain virtually undetectable indefinitely. The key word is premium. The quality of the system, the skill of the fitting specialist, and the standard of ongoing maintenance all directly affect the long term result.

I will never recommend a hair system to a client without giving them a completely honest picture of both the benefits and the ongoing commitment involved. That honest assessment is the foundation of every recommendation I make.

My Background With Hair Systems

My journey into hair loss specialism began with hair systems. Before expanding into transplants, medication, SMP and PRP, I spent years fitting hair systems professionally, developing a deep understanding of the fitting process, the materials involved, and the importance of getting every detail right for a completely natural result.

I even fitted hair systems on behalf of the NHS, working with clients whose hair loss went beyond cosmetic concerns into genuine medical need. That experience gave me a level of insight into hair systems that most people in the broader hair loss industry simply do not have.

That background means that when I refer a client to my trusted hair system partner, I am not simply passing them on to someone else. I understand the process intimately, I know what a good result looks like, and I can give genuinely informed guidance throughout the entire journey.

My Role

I work with a carefully selected, highly experienced hair system specialist in the North West with a strong reputation for natural looking results and exceptional client care.

My role is to assess whether a hair system is the right solution for your situation, prepare you fully for what the process involves, and manage the referral to my trusted partner. As with every treatment I discuss, I will only recommend a hair system if I genuinely believe it is the right option for you.

If a hair system is the right solution for your situation I will guide you through the process from initial assessment through to fitting and ongoing maintenance, and remain available for any questions throughout your journey.
